SBTP provides cutting-edge small business training infused with sound instruction from the business experts to launch a business venture effectively. The curriculum is designed and taught by experts in the field of small business development. It guides entrepreneurs through the many challenges that may be encountered on the road to becoming successful business owners. Participants are immersed in an interactive environment so they can gain in-depth knowledge, skills, tools and resources to enable their growth and ultimate success as a business owner.

As result of completing SBTP, students will:

- Have analyzed the feasibility of their business venture.
- Have identified their weaknesses and strengths in areas such as business management, business finance, human resources and overall success characteristics.
- Have learned how to establish a strong foundation for their business, including clearly defining their business concept, target market, vision and mission statements, as well as their own core values.
- Understand the various types of business structures and define the most appropriate model for their needs.
- Have gained insights on how to finance their business during the start-up phase and beyond.
- Have learned to manage their growth, including the ins-and-outs of hiring the right people to do the right work.
- Have started a formal business plan with after training support available to ensure that the plan is finished correctly.
- Have developed an implementation plan for launching their business.
- Be able to present their business plan to potential funders.
